Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Jodensnewsblog handles information when you read articles, use the Contact page, or follow links to other websites. The public website does not currently provide visitor accounts, public comments, newsletter registration, or online purchases.
Information you provide voluntarily
If you use the contact form, you provide your name, email address, subject, and message. The newsroom uses this information to review and respond to your enquiry, correction, or story tip. Please do not send sensitive personal information that is not needed for your enquiry.
Technical information collected automatically
The application uses a server-side session and an essential session cookie for security features, form protection, temporary notices, administrator authentication, and avoiding duplicate article-view counts during one session. Article views are stored as aggregate totals by article and date.
For contact-form abuse prevention, the application stores a one-way keyed hash derived from the visitor's IP address with the message; it does not store the raw IP address in the contact-message record. The hosting environment may also create standard access or security logs containing an IP address, browser or user-agent information that may indicate device type, requested pages, and access times. The exact retention of hosting logs depends on the hosting provider's configuration.
How information is used
Information is used to deliver and secure the website, publish and measure article views, prevent form abuse, diagnose technical problems, and respond to messages submitted through the Contact page. It is not used by this project to build advertising profiles or sell visitor information.
Cookies and similar technologies
The site uses an essential session cookie as described above. No advertising or analytics cookies are configured in the current project. Disabling the session cookie may prevent forms and other security features from working correctly.
Analytics and third-party services
No third-party analytics service or advertising network is configured. The site loads web fonts from Google Fonts, so a visitor's browser may make a technical request to Google when a page loads. Facebook, X, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, and other external services are contacted when you choose to open their profile or sharing links. If contact handling is configured for email, the submitted enquiry is also processed by the website's hosting mail service.
Links to external websites
Articles and social links may lead to websites operated by other organizations. Their privacy practices and content are controlled by them, so review their policies before providing information.
Data security
The project uses access controls, protected administrator sessions, request-forgery protection, prepared database queries, output filtering, and restricted uploads. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but reasonable measures are used to reduce unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.
Data retention
Contact messages and their rate-limiting hashes are retained in the newsroom database until they are no longer needed and are removed by an administrator; the application does not currently apply an automatic contact-message deletion schedule. Session data expires according to the server's session configuration. Aggregate article-view counts do not directly identify individual visitors. Hosting-log retention is controlled by the hosting provider.
Children's privacy
The site is intended for a general news audience and does not knowingly seek personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted personal information may contact the newsroom to request its removal.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask whether personal information is held about you and to request access, correction, or deletion. The newsroom may need enough information to identify the relevant contact message and may retain information when legally required or reasonably needed for security.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the website's features or information practices change. The date at the top of this page will be revised when a material update is published.
